Dr. Alvarez was in China Sept 24-October 1, 2015, as an instructor and Hip Session chairman at the WCORT-2015 in Xi’an, China. There were orthopaedic surgeons from China and throughout the world at this conference. He felt honored to be the Chairman for the Hip Arthroplasty and Reconstruction session of the conference.
Dr. Alvarez presented a lecture on Anterior Total Hip Replacements at the WCORT-2014 conference in China the previous year. At that conference he lectured to orthopaedic surgeons from throughout the world. It was a tremendous experience and Dr. Alvarez was fascinated by being able to see and discuss how surgeons in different parts of the world deal with different joint replacement issues. It was after Dr. Alvarez lectures in China in 2014, that he was asked to be the chairman of the hip section in 2015. Dr. Alvarez also was able to meet orthopaedic surgeons from around the world. He is still in contact with many of those surgeons.
Just after leaving the China conference this past month, Dr. Alvarez was asked to return for their meeting in WCORT-2016.
